Ramila Ben Jadav, a construction worker, and her husband have faced significant challenges due to extreme heat and weather conditions in their work. Ramila, aware of the risks, enrolled in the Climate Risk Insurance (CRI) scheme launched by Mahila Housing Trust (MHT) in February 2024. After attending a workshop on climate change, she and her husband faced income losses due to heat and heavy rains, which led them to claim INR 750 through the scheme. Ramila advocates for the scheme to include more weather risks and suggests improving the flexibility and coverage. She plans to raise awareness about CRI in her community.
